
Meet The Ministers

Rhonda Lawrence
Associate Minister
Rev. Rhonda Lawrence is a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Ohio.
She attended Kent State University in Kent, OH where she earned a
B.A. in Telecommunications. She continued her collegiate studies at
Kent State University earning two Master degrees, Master of Arts in
Teaching and Master of Library & Information Science. She has
worked as Teacher and Teacher/Library Media Specialist in the
Cleveland Metropolitan School District from 1984 until retirement in
June 2017.
In 2008, having accepted her Call to the Ministry, she enrolled at
Ashland Theological Seminary. In June 2014 she earned the
seminary degree Master of Arts Religion. In October 2015 Rev.
Lawrence was Ordained as a Christian Minister at the Call of
Covenant Baptist Church where she served as Associate Minister,
and Minister of Christian Education.
In 2017, Rev. Lawrence was honored to preach at the Urban Ministry
in the 21st Century Cleveland Baptist Association Festival of
Emerging Preachers and Prophetic Voices.
Rev. Lawrence in response to her Call to the Pastorate committed to
formal training in Clinical Pastoral Education as Chaplain Intern at the Louis Stokes Veterans Administration Medical Center the Summer of 2016 and Chaplain Resident at the Louis Stokes VA for the 2017-2018 term.
Rev. Lawrence is dedicated to serving God’s people to help render healing and peaceful reconciliation of mind and spirit as God transforms and renews His people.
Rev. Lawrence is a member and Chaplain of the Greater
Cleveland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
She is a member of the Cleveland Baptist Association.
Recently, Rev. Lawrence was appointed to the Kent State University
Diversity & Inclusion Advocacy Board.
In May 2018 she received Ecclesiastical Endorsement for specialized Chaplaincy Ministry in Veterans Affairs from the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.
Rev. Lawrence is mother and mother-in-law to daughter Jasmine and
Jermaine. Grandmother to Kurtis Malik, Julian Rashad and Aubri
Jaiyana.
